Exclamation Generic MP3 Player issues

Sponsored Links
Hey everyone, i got a questiong for anyone who is able to answer it for me. I was given a MP3 player at work as a gift and it's some generic off brand (i honestly have no clue what make or model it could be) and i took it home and started to synch up some media to it and something went wrong with it, i turned it on and everything was gone on my device. I pulged it back in and tryed it again thinking something may have gone wrong with the Synch. Well it than starts to give me a error code C00D1197 when i try and Synch the device to Windows Media Player 11.

I took a look and seen that my WMPINFO file was no longer in there, and I was reading somewhere that if that get's taken out that you will not be able to synch or add files or anythign to it.

Is there any way to fix this issue?

Thanks

Chris

Re: Generic MP3 Player issues

There could be several reasons why you might be receiving this error. The first step to fix the problem is to confirm that Windows Media Player is installed correctly. You can do this by reinstalling your version of the Player.

If the problem persists, then external software used by the Player, usually either codecs or drivers for your computer hardware, may not be working correctly. Some codecs can introduce instability with programs such as the Player, or with your computer in general. For more information about correcting codec issues. You can get the latest driver updates available for your computer hardware by scanning for updates on the Microsoft Update Web site or by visiting the hardware manufacturer's Web site.

Re: Generic MP3 Player issues

It’s a good idea to update and/or reinstall your Sound Card and Video Card drivers
. Along with DirectX when you are getting this error.
Another good troubleshooting step is to try and play your content in Windows Media Player 6.4 which is on your system. To access it go to Start | Run | Type mplayer2.exe.

Any attachments from e-mail's should always be saved to your hard drive before attempting to play them in Windows Media Player. Depending on your e-mail client this can be done in many ways, check with your provider for more. Remember that it must be a supported file type after you download the attachmnet to be able to play it in Windows Media Player.

At this point you should have collect enough information for someone to try and give you a suggestion on what you might do to fix it. So posting in the Windows Media Player Newsgroup in a reply to your first post, or a new post with some exact information about your problem would be good idea. Remember to include the following…
  • Version of Windows Media Player
  • File Format & link to content (If Possible)
  • Version of Windows
  • What you have tried so far to fix the problem.
