BlackBerry 9630 Niagara For CDMA

The BlackBerry 9630 Niagara has appeared again and this time we have better pictures. From what we can see so far the handset is turned on and it should be fully functional. So what is RIM still waiting for? If the phone works we should be able to officially get it soon. Maybe those folks with the camera and the leopard print there might be kind enough to drop a few specs our way in the near future!

The BlackBerry 9630 is a CDMA full-QWERTY BlackBerry and as you can see in the photo (the 9630) is more compact than a BlackBerry Bold. The BlackBerry 9630 is said to be available on Verizon and is supposed to be a World Edition. Other rumored features include GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSPA and CDMA 1xRTT/EV-DO Rev. A connectivity and a 3.2MP camera.

Apparently this 'Berry's rocking OS 4.7.1.10 -- not 4.6 like its sibling the Bold but it's got a "very likable Bold keyboard" albeit with a bit smaller keys. The back battery cover looks to be a piano-like carbon fiber plastic with a new hinge design to prevent dust accumulation, and it's described as being very light and sleek.

Of course in the tradition of all things leaked the video's got a good amount of blurriness, but it's not like we haven't seen it before. Unfortunately, the OS was super buggy, and the videographer couldn't even get the device fully powered on for a tour of Verizon's presumably tweaked software but with this latest torrent of information over the past few days, we're sure that we'll be seeing a lot more of this bad boy in the not-so-distant future.

Re: BlackBerry 9630 Niagara For CDMA

I couldn't agree more, my friend! I love the Bold keyboard, and while I love the design of the Curve 8900, it needed chrome instead of that painted silver stuff, thus, the chromed-out Niagara, just like the Bold. And if I am looking at the pictures correctly, the trackball is black. That is one of the Curve 8900's best design features, and it is nice to see it carried over to the Niagara.

The Niagara just totally came in and gave Verizon their OTHER AT&T/Tmo/Sprint BlackBerry killing BlackBerry!
