Partially unveiled a few weeks ago at CES 2009, the touch pad T91 Eee PC is now detailed, and its upcoming release in France confirmed, according to the online magazine dedicated LaptopSpirit.
The machine is as expected around a rotating touch screen 9 inch backlight LED. Topped by a webcam of 0.3 million pixels, it can turn around and can use the machine as a computer or portable classic or as a tablet PC. Not surprisingly, an Intel Atom Z530 clocked at 1.6 GHz was selected. It is supported by 1 GB of RAM. The type and capacity of storage media were not specified, but an online storage of 10GB and a SDHC memory card will be extended.
There are also the endless two USB ports, input / output analog audio, the video output VGA and Ethernet network connectivity and The Asus Eee PC T91 has built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 3G mobile network connectivity. GPS receiver is included as well. . A version with an integrated 3G modem will also emerge. The manufacturer has measured 5 hours of battery life for the touchscreen netbook.
Taking notes from their Eee Top model, the T91 is a tablet running XP, but at the press of a button in the bezel of the 8.9-inch screen, you can launch into Widget or Touch modes, based on a Linux system. You can swipe between the different modes, enhancing the touch interaction, or just using it as a conventional netbook.
Supplied with Windows XP and a software suite optimized for the touch, it weighs 990 grams and measures 28 millimeters thick. Its price and availability date are not yet known.
