    Lenovo ThinkPad R400

    So far, Lenovo's shotgun launch of its new ThinkPad T, SL, W, R, and X-series has been a lesson in retail clumsiness. Like all of Lenovo`s R Series notebooks, is perfect for everyday computing offering mainstream performance and features at a great price, Other than the T series, Lenovo is also offering the new Centrino 2 based Lenovo ThinkPad R400.


    The R400, as same as the 15.4-inch R500, comes with Intel’s Core 2 Duo processors or Celeron CPUs, the GMA 4500HD integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of HDD storage, a built-in optical drive with Blu-Ray burner choice, and the optional Intel Turbo Memory 2.0 module.

    The R400 has a 14.1-inch LCD display. They feature WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet connectivity, ExpressCard slot, optional webcam, and VGA out.R400 notebook is ideal for either home or office. By combining the latest Intel technology, graphics and a variety of wireless solutions, the ThinkPad R400 is designed to boost performance and help you work smartly and efficiently. R400 is marketed towards everyday consumers that desire ThinkPad quality without the price tag often associated with it.

    The laptop features a widescreen display with a resolution of 1280-by-800 or 1440-by- 900 pixels and an optional web camera. Regarding communications, it sports Intel’s 802.11b/g wireless with optional support for 802.11n WiFi standard, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, Bluetooth, and 56k modem.


    There are also three USB ports, Firewire, an ExpressCard slot, another slot that can be populated with SmartCard, multimedia card, or PC Card reader, as well as VGA output.

    The ThinkPad R400 weighs around 5 pounds and runs Windows Vista OS.

    the R400 does not include the option for a discrete graphics card. Starting at 5.05 pounds with a battery life of 2.6 hours, the R400 is an all around performer on par with Lenovo's T offerings, without advanced video options, WWAN or the over-engineered build only demanding professionals expect.

    Lenovo ThinkPad R400 is available for a price from $1,005.00. But you can buy it at the starting cost of $956 at the Lenovo store.
