External sata hdd dock speed Hi everyone, I recently bought a new pc but i am looking for more space and willing to connect my old pcs sata hardisk so I did some research and i came across an e-sata hdd dock as a usb 2.0 connected dock.before buy that i want to know how it will work ,its data speed .please reply me . thank you. |

Re: External sata hdd dock I have just done a test on my disk, and for some reason the transfer rate is just 50mb/second.I thought e-sata was upto 3gb/sec. I realise that from past experience that that might be gigabits per second, but that still be much higher the rate I have been getting. |

Re: External sata hdd dock i think for dock the hard disk speed of 50 MB/s is a reasonable enough but this speed for a cheap drive. |

Re: External sata hdd dock I don't think you are ever going to get 3Gbps. That's just marketing hype and a "theory." The most I've seen is like 186MB/sec on my machine and that is during initial "bursts" - I get speeds less than you when using USB. I know RAID runs a lot faster |
