Speed of USB drive

Hi there,

I m using 8gb USB flash drive. Whenever i connect it to my PC, it takes around 30 secs to open any folder or document. Too slow, please tel me how to speed up my drive?

Check read/write speed of your USb drive. USB drives have a wide range of read/write speeds and the cheap ones are very often very slow.

USB hub can slow down devices. A USB hub has to re-calculate the time left before the next sof (end of the uframe); the small extra delay added by the hardware hub could make the transaction not handled as fast as a device directly connected to the host. If several devices are connected on the hub and working in parallel (for example, a webcam + a USB flash drive + a mouse), then the USB bandwidth is shared among the devices usage.

It also depends on the ports you are using. There may be a driver problem. Try to reinstall the drivers. And if anything doesn't work, then reformat your drive.
