Nokia Unveils Eco Pack of N79

Nokia has unveiled another Nokia N79 model known as N79 Eco after unveiling Nokia 79 Active. Nokia N79 Eco is designed especially for people who really care about the environment.

The Nokia N79 Eco is specially designed for the environmentally conscious crowd. In fact, it is packaged in a tiny box, without a charger. According to Nokia, this is their strategy for minimizing environmental wastes and for encouraging the buyers to re-use their old but ‘still in good condition’ chargers. A portion of the Nokia Eco purchase, which equals to 4GBP, will go to the WWF.

With regards to its functionality, the Nokia N79 Eco carries a quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) and dual-band UMTS (900/2100MHz) support with HSDPA for high-speed data, while A-GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a microSD memory slot are also on board. The Nokia Eco is sold at US$477 Nokia’s Online Shop UK in different hues including petrol black with dark gray, steel gray, and deep plum covers.

The significant different of N79 Eco version is that it packages in small box without a charger. This is because Nokia is assuming and hoping the Nokia Phone owner can used their existing Nokia charger to charge their new N79. Nokia also will donate £4 to WWF for each Nokia N79 eco phone has been sold.

Actually, Nokia N79 Eco version is like N79 which features with a 5 megapixel camera, video recording capability, FM transmitter, Bluetooth enable, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as external memory space with up to 16 GB and integrates Nokia Maps.

Currently, the Nokia N79 Eco is available in Europe for the price of $477 and in petrol black color with various covers.

Re: Nokia Unveils Eco Pack of N79

Interestingly enough, the Nokia N79 Eco costs just about the same as normal Nokia N79 retail packages at £319 or about $467. But for those who are just upgrading from older Nokia phones, the lack of a charger probably won’t matter, even at a price like that. Heck, some people might even afford to lose the user manual and box, and it would still be alright.
