WD Mac Compatible External Hard Drives

Macworld Expo Booth No. 211 - Broadening its storage solutions for Mac?, WD , the world leader in external storage solutions, today introduced two new external hard drives -- the My Passport™ for Mac portable drive and the My Book Mac Edition external hard drive. Pre-formatted for Mac and offering a simple USB interface, these drives offer the ever-growing Mac community reliable, easy-to-use storage. WD's latest Mac-ready drives work seamlessly with Apple Time Machine or other popular Mac backup software to provide protection for consumers' valuable digital photos and media.

My Passport for Mac portable storage devices feature a sleek design in a shock-resistant enclosure and are available in capacities of 320 GB and 500 GB. The new My Book Mac Edition drives are equipped with power-saving WD hard drives with GreenPower technology, USB 2.0 interface and 1 TB of capacity.

I uses a regular WD My Passport. I didn't format it for "HFS" but it works perfectly well with both my MacBook and my Vista machine. It is FAT32 formatted.so what are we talking here about

it is really over priced! Seriously. I would rather buy the NTFS/FAT32 formatted one for like $89 bucks.and then reformat it format again. I mean, I can format my own drive and save $90!

not a big deal. I recently bought a Seagate FreeAgent Go Mac this week. At least they included a handy docking unit and FireWire 400/800 connectivity as well as HSF+ formatting.
