HP making 15.6-inch, LED-lit Voodoo notebook?

HP is developing its first mid-size Voodoo PC-branded notebook since the reinvention of the label earlier in the year, a slip from within the PC builder claims. The system would be HP's first known high-end portable to carry a 15.6-inch, 16:9 aspect ratio display and will use an LED backlight that should both slim down the display and improve battery life. The system is reportedly due to ship during the summer and so is a candidate for Intel's mobile Core i7 processors.

The company is also set to launch business models with same-size displays. Some more conventional 15.4-inch, 16:10 notebooks are also due, though the balance between these and the wider models isn't known.

HP is nonetheless set to switch much of its lineup to the new ratio, the leak suggests. Out of the 37 million to 38 million notebooks estimated to ship for HP during the year, roughly half (17 million to 18 million) are due to use the display type.

After Lenovo is the turn of HP to offer a laptop with two screens! The target is not the same, however, or the Chinese manufacturer seeks professional users, HP is the players. The Voodoo Firefly is equipped with a screen size 17 "(1920x1200) and a small 4.3-inch screen with a resolution of 800x480. Note also the touchpad, to the right of the keyboard.

The rest of the configuration is not left with a Core 2 Extreme 2.4 GHz quad-core, 4 GB of RAM, two ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 in CrossFire, two hard drives in 250 GB SATA RAID0. A chip Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme is in charge of audio it manages to 6! An optical unit Blu-ray is expected to view the films in full HD. It has a webcam and offers a DVI + HDMI connections.
