problem in apple ipod !!

I have apple 8Gb ipod and i am very happy with its performance, but suddenly
from few days it get hang completely as i connect it to pc .
now its not possible to transfer any data in it .
I do not have its bill as i got it as gift on my birthday .please can any body help me to find out service center or wt to do??
