Advice to buy a laptop

I have a budget of 0 to 30000 MAX(all tax and other stuff included) . really hoping to minimize the cost.
I need the laptop to be fairly portable( hostel to department to classes to cafes...in the same day). 14" or 15" screen. I dont want windows OS to be installed. would prefer to have linux. no fancy stuff required. but i would like to play few games on it like CS without having to curse my processor. I would also be using MATLAB etc...would prefer to have a pentium core duo....

I have no idea of the laptop market... would be really nice if some1 could suggest few good configs.....( keep in mind the price range )

Re: Advice to buy a laptop

I think under 30k you will get acer brand Laptop ( http://acer-online.co.in/?utm_source... cErpAodr2Vv8w ) and if that doesn't satisfies you put more 5 or 6 k to your price and go for Dell 1525 .

If you ask me I will go with the dell because the body of acer is better then acer and the Dell lapy looks good and give better performance and you will get enough service center for your help .

HOPE this helps you for more information reply !
