Tata Teleservices Limited, a provider in telecommunication services announced on Monday that it has partnered with Nokia Siemens Networks for its pan-India GSM network rollout.

Nokia Siemens Networks has been identified as one of the main vendors that will manage the operations of the networks it deploys over a period of five years, Nokia Siemens said.

The services outlay includes local supplies, network planning, project management, network rollout and systems integration activities across the national network.

Commenting on the partnership with Nokia Siemens Networks, Tata Teleservices Ltd Managing Director Anil Sardana said, "As we gear up for our GSM launch, we feel suitably aligned to Nokia Siemens Networks, which, with its massive services setup in the country, can provide us the required support."

Nokia Siemens Networks is backed by experience of more than 200 managed services contracts worldwide, serving a subscriber base in excess of 190 million. NSN was selected on the basis of its mobile soft-switching solution, its Home Location Register.

TTSL would also deploy the company's packet core solution, including the Flexi Intelligent Service Node, for all 22 circles in the country, enabling it to offer ubiquitous mobile Internet access across subscriber segments, the release said.

Head of Nokia Siemens Networks for Sub-region India Michael Kuehner said, "This partnership with TTSL is all the more special for us. Not only does this allow us to work with one of the most prestigious names in the Indian corporate history, but being selected for TTSL's GSM launch also considerably strengthens our dominance across the Indian telecom landscape."
