A processor family PowerVR SGX, developed by Imagination Technologies Group, may have been chosen by Sony at the base of the next generation of PlayStation Portable console. According to indiscretions current architecture could be indicated by the name of SGX55x to be used in future mobile console from Sony.
Imagination has formalized that it has concluded an agreement technology to produce an architecture for a product of consumer electronics with an international, and this led to believe that there is underlying its agreement with Sony. Both companies have chosen not to comment about it, the rest of the usual practice in cases like this.
The first version of the PlayStation Portable console integrates its own chip various owners for the management of various 3D components necessary for creating scenes of videogames. Sony's policy is to ensure the greatest possible compatibility of titles developed on previous generations of consoles including the new ones.
