    Idea Cellular and HTC Corp launched HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch Viva smartphones in India

    Idea Cellular, a leading mobile service operator has entered into a tie up with Taiwan's handset manufacturer HTC Corp to offer two touch phone models in India targetted at the premium segment.

    Designed for business consumers, the HTC Touch Pro a.k.a T7276 is touted to be a powerful communication device that offers one-handed operation. Aimed at Indian youth, the HTC Touch Viva (also known as T2223) provides smart technology with just a touch of a finger.

    HTC Touch Pro and Viva Phones Powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 platform, both the Pro and Viva sport cutting-edge innovation, design and entertainment capabilities. Both the smartphones incorporate TouchFLO 3D technology to optimize touch experience while navigating through videos, photos and music. Users can type messages, emails and even make call through just a tip of their finger.


    "The tie up between the two companies is not exclusive and there is no financial arrangement between them," Shrivastava said. Customers of other mobile service operator also could opt to buy these models .

    "The two models embody our commitment to build a family of touch phones that are powerful, stylish and offer something for everyone", Jack Tong, Vice President, HTC Asia said.

    Moreover, the business phone also incorporates an internal GPS antenna, 512 MB ROM, 256 MB RAM, Qualcomm MSM7201A processor, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, Wi-Fi connectivity with HTC ExtUSB and FM radio with RDS. It supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, WAV and AMR-NB audio file formats.

    Coming to the next phone from HTC, the Touch Viva comes equipped with a sharp 2.8-inch QVGA screen, 4-way navigational control, a 2.0 megapixel camera with fixed focus, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, HTC ExtUSB, Bluetooh with A2DP, 256 MB ROM, 128 MB RAM. Powered by TI’s OMAP 850 processor, the smartphone is compatible with an array of audio files such as AAC, AAC+eAAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, QCP, MP3, WMA and WAV formats.

    HTC Touch Pro is priced at Rs 34,900 while HTC Viva will sell at Rs 16,490 at all HTC resellers across the country.

    The HTC Touch Pro smartphone sports an intuitive navigation, a five-row QWERTY keyboard, access to mobile internet for enhanced web surfing with zooming capability, an integrated TV-out function to deliver PowerPoint presentation directly from the device, and access to Microsoft Office document. It also features a 2.8-inch TFT LCD screen, an in-built 3.2 megapixel camera with flashlight and optical auto-focus lens, and auto sensor screen pivoting.
