Problem connecting a camera

Hello everyone!
I have a problem with my camera, it is a digitalcameras Samsung VP-D371.
For the first time I tried to transfer my videos to my PC: An Acer with Vista.
I plugged my camera by the DV and the FireWire ... But nothing happens, Windows does not recognize the new device.I have followed all the information on manual ...

Through your acquisition software, you will see normally (import the video)

Sorry, but ... What software acquisition ..I have Movie Maker, and when I do "import", it said: "Importing video does not find a compatible digital video device"

Look good in the manual of your camcorder, it is sometimes to manip to be seen by the PC.

I found the solution! after having bought 3 map of acquisition after having checked my camcorder, after 3 different FireWire cables! Well nothing wrong runway! I just bought a card acquisition of a 15 euros! in a specialist model: VIA PCI slot 1. and it works! advice: do not buy a card acquisition of a large surface!they know not what they sell!
my pc configuration : xp 1gb ram + 128 MB card I hope to have helped!

A capture card is a card inserted in your PC and, connected to a camcorder or other device, can retrieve a video signal that can then be worked by an editing software.
