Toshiba launches portable projector with USB port

Toshiba on Tuesday announced the release of its portable TLP-X150U projector.

PC-Free Convenience
Running the show without a laptop. Now it doesn’t get more convenient than that. Simply load your presentation onto a USB flash drive, pop it in your briefcase or pocket, and you’re all set. Then, just plug it into the TLP-X150U and use the fully loaded remote to keep things in high gear.

Naturally Stunning Color
Courtesy of Toshiba’s innovative Natural Color Enhancer5. The TLP-X150U has advanced circuitry that renders your photos, illustrations, movies and business multimedia in vivid, totally natural hues, while bringing even the most intricately colored charts and graphs to life.

The slim 3LCD projector features a native resolution of 1024x768 and 2600 lumens brightness along with a 600:1 contrast ratio. The projector weighs in at 4lbs, is less than 3 inches tall and comes with a carrying bag to promote its portability. Toshiba’s Natural Color Enhancer5 software sharpens up the colors.

The projector is 1080i HDTV compatible thanks to a VGA port that doubles as a component video input, while a USB thumb drive loaded with JPG images can replace a PC during simple presentations. Like most other presentation projectors, a Blackboard function compensates for projection surfaces other than screens or white surfaces, with options for green, black, brown, blue or beige. An automatic vertical keystone correction shifts the lens to produce a square image even when the projector is offset from the screen or wall by angles up to 45 degrees.
