Panasonic Corp prototyped an audio-visual equipment that supports "WirelessHD," a specification for wirelessly transmitting uncompressed HDTV video, and demonstrated it at CEATEC JAPAN 2008.

The pixel count of the panel is 1,920 × 1,080 (full HD). The company aims to mass-produce the TV in 2009 or later, it said.

The color reproduction range of the new LCD TV is as high as 150% of the HDTV specifications. It was realized by adopting three colors (RGB) of LEDs for the backlight source. The company declined to comment on the number of LEDs or alignment method for them.
