Packard Bell launches "dot" netbook

While its parent company Acer has already marketed its Aspire One, Packard Bell enters turn in the circle (increasingly large) builders Netbook. Originally named Nebo (as you see in the picture), this first NETBOOK signed Packard-Bell was finally introduced as Dot during the annual conference of the Acer group in Budapest.

In a size of 8.9 inch, Dot the display in a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and will work under Windows XP. Within the (small) beast, Packard Bell has chosen to trust the Intel Atom, as did its MSI Wind. If the gigabyte of RAM, three USB ports and integrated webcam are classic features of this style of product, the 160GB hard drive (and therefore the absence of DSS) and the card reader 5-in-1 are perhaps more exotic choices. However, no information about the type of battery used, even if the location is planned to accommodate a 6-cell model.

In terms of communication tools finally, the Dot will have a Wi-Fi chip that supports B and G standards and a 3G module distributed as an option. Clone of the Acer Aspire One aesthetic level, this NETBOOK will be available in November in Europe, for a price that should turn around 399 euros, which does not place among the cheapest in its class.
