    Sanyo's 120Hz PLV-Z3000 1080p projector: $3,295 for USers

SANYO Introduces a New Ultra-High Contrast, 120Hz Full HD 1080p LCD Front Projector
    • Features the industry's first 5:5 pull down projector with 120Hz Full HD panel - A super high contrast ratio of 65,000:1 for extraordinary black levels Incorporates SANYO's exclusive TopazReal HD, 3D color management technology - Advanced lens-shifting and short-throw capability allows installation virtually anywhere

SANYO, one of the world's largest manufacturers of LCD and DLP projectors introduces the PLV-Z3000 a super-fast 120Hz Full HD 1080p LCD Projector that features SANYO's exclusive 3D color management system, an ultra-high contrast ratio of 65,000:1, an advanced lens shifting function and a quiet fan system. The PLV-Z3000 is also the industry's first LCD projector to introduce 5:5 pull down, for the most frame accurate delivery of all source material.

Replacing the popular PLV-Z2000, the new PLV-Z3000 offers SANYO's proprietary TopazReal HD technology, which includes 14-bit digital processing and the real-focus HD lens system. TopazReal HD is a 3D color management system that address changes in color phase and color level to obtain perfect color reproduction, producing 1110 times more color combinations than 720p projectors, approximately 216 billion color combinations. This new color management system was designed to optimize the potential of Deep Color via the projectors two HDMI 1.3 inputs.

The PLV-Z3000 is the industry's first projector with a 5:5 pull-down mode, featuring 'Dynamic Predictive Frame Interpolation Technology' that utilizes speeds of 120Hz to increase the smoothness in video reproduction, even for scenes with extreme motion. This is accomplished by doubling the frame rate from 60 fps to 120 fps using interpolation frame generation technology. The interpolation technology predicts the motion differences between frames and generates five interpolated images to fill the gaps. This fast image processing improves overall resolution and eliminates motion artifacts. It also provides accurate reproduction of 24 fps source material, particularly from HD television broadcasts, allowing the look and feel of movie theater-quality from everyday broadcast programming.

Rated at 1200 ANSI lumens, the PLV-Z3000 is capable of an incredible 65,000:1 contrast ratio for superlative black levels and jet-black color reproduction, especially when ambient light is present. SANYO also introduces a new optical engine that incorporates an additional optical compensating plate to minimize polarized light leakage, which increases contrast ratio.

Outfitted with the industry's most advanced lens shifting function, and coupled with the projector's short throw capability and 2x zoom, the PLV-Z3000 creates a large screen image in any size room and from virtually any location. The lens shifting function allows wide-range vertical shifting to three screen sizes and horizontal shifting to two screen sizes. The design is capable of projecting a 100-inch diagonal image from 10 to 20 feet away, making the PLV-Z3000 extremely suitable for average size home theaters.

The PLV-Z3000 is equipped with a quiet fan, a large aperture, low noise Sirocco cooling type that never rises above 19dB in the economy mode. It promotes greater enjoyment by reducing noise levels during quiet passages of a film or television. This is critical because a high performance 1200 lumen projector can generate a tremendous amount of heat. At this level of brightness, the fan is 'on' most of the time and the noise can be extremely loud and disruptive, especially in smaller home theaters where the projector and the audience are in close proximity.

"The PLV-Z3000, with SANYO's exclusive TopazReal HD feature set and high contrast ratio, offers home theater users a new reference in high performance, cost-effective 1080p projection, "says Mark Holt, the Vice President and General Manager for SANYO's Presentation Technologies Division. "The flexibility of installation due to our unique lens shifting system and the short-throw distance makes the PLV-Z3000 an excellent choice for home theater viewing."
