Apple announced a new line of products for the Indian market.
New iPod Nano, touch in India. This new line-up includes the new fourth generation iPod Nano and the second generation iPod Touch that was introduced in the US earlier.


The fourth generation iPod Nano is the thinnest in the family and features a curved aluminum and glass enclosure. It incorporates a new feature, called Genius, that crawls through your songs and automatically creates playlists of songs that go well together, with just one click. Plus, it also features a built-in accelerometer which automatically switches to Cover Flow when rotated, and goes into shuffle mode when lightly shaken.

Further the new Nano promises up to 24 hours of music playback or 4 hours of video playback. Scheduled for availability after two weeks, the 8GB model is priced at Rs.9,700 and the 16GB model will cost Rs.12,500.

The second generation iPod Touch is smaller and lighter than the original Touch features a thin contoured metal design with integrated volume control buttons and a 3.5-inch widescreen glass display. It also features built-in Nike + iPod support for keeping a track of the work out sessions.

In addition to these, the new Touch also offers 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi wireless networking, a built-in speaker and accelerometer and other advanced sensors. Starting October 8th, the new 8GB Touch will be available for Rs.15,100, 16GB for Rs.19,100 and 32GB for Rs.25,000.
