It is certainly one of the great innovations presented at the fair. This is the mode of 200 Hz announced by Sony and Samsung, a refresh rate that as manufacturers avoid this purpose trail that those with good eye, certainly detected immediately panels with lower speed refresh.
The curious thing is that both companies announced their models under the title "the first LCD in the world to 200 Hz." We have asked, and perhaps the only one that has been wet to Sony: "Can that Samsung has the world's first prototype, but we will have the first model of the market." Referring to the timing of the launch, which will probably earn them.
We wanted to check yourself developments of these 200 Hz. To do so we bring you a comparison based on photographs, which can be seen as, with different values of soda, the famous trail appears or disappears in the two manufacturers.
Let's start by Samsung. The manufacturer had on display screens with 3 different refresh rate: 50 Hz, 100 Hz and 200 Hz. All three showed a video of photographs circulating from right to left at a speed considerably. The model shows a 50 Hz ghosting very pronounced, the 100 Hz something smaller while the 200 Hz, is almost negligible. In direct reproduction of the latter is clean and extremely soft.
The model in the wake of Sony may seem much more extensive, because the image displayed forced to move from white to black pixel, one of the changes that most affect the ghosting.
Our conclusion is that the technology works, there is only passing through the booth, comparing the screens and see how all the attendees were amazed at the huge difference. It is funny that can be harmed by all this new technology. And now, we can read in the TV ads, the small print at the bottom of the screen, so you do not fall into the deception of advertising brands.
As for launches, Samsung has put its model in the spring of 2009 at a price not yet determined. Sony for its part, intends to launch its models on the market since October, could place, as he himself said, as the manufacturer with the first LCD 200 Hz on the market.
