Lenovo has launched the IdeaPad Y710 notebook PC in the Indian market. The notebook is the company’s first with a 17 inch monitor and has a resolution of 1440 x 900. For graphics processor, Lenovo has used the ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 with 512MB of memory.


Lenovo for the first time has introduced RAID function in the IdeaPad Y710. The RAID function simultaneously uses both the hard disk drives to achieve greater levels of input/ output performance and data reliability. It also maintains mirror copies of the data on different drives to ensure complete data security.

The notebook comes with touch-sensitive controls and users can select between multimedia choices, volume and equaliser.

The notebook has a performance control switch with Turbo mode for maximum power, which includes CPU overclocking and Quiet mode for saving energy.

A few models of Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 comes with game zone functionality which includes enlarged directional buttons for game play, four user-customisable buttons and a secondary display showing system information such as CPU speed.

The notebook support hard drive of up to 320 GB with a speed of 5400rpm that also houses swap hard drive. The company for the first time has also introduced RAID function in the IdeaPad Y710.

The IdeaPad Y710 will be available at all Lenovo authorized stores in the price range of Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 85,000 .
