Sort of like a laser pointer with super powers, the Flowlight is a design concept that lets you write in midair with streams of light. Sounds like pretty much the coolest thing I've ever seen, though it has one key limitation: it's a two-piece device. The pen will only create light streams in the air above another unit, a sort of big, cone-shaped base station. The base focuses a laser beam 100 times per second to where the pen is, creating small plasma points that glow in midair.

Sounds vaguely like lightning, though presumably a lot safer. No need to worry just yet, though, since the Flowlight is just a concept — albeit one we would buy tickets to see in action.
