Gigabyte GTX Windforce 670 vs. Asus Directcu II 7970

I am planning on buying a new graphic card for my PC and I researched about it to find that Gigabyte GTX Windforce 670 and Asus Directcu II 7970 suit my requirements for gaming. The only problem is that I don’t have much idea about the hardware and that is why I can’t distinguish between the properties of these two graphic cards. It would be really helpful of someone if they tell me which among these two graphic cards is best.

I’d say that you should go for the Gigabyte GTX Windforce 670 graphic card as it is much better than Asus Directcu II 7970 when it comes to gaming. Asus Directcu II 7970 is a good graphic card, but it suffers from a big issue of micro stuttering. This problem will grow more if you have attached more than one Asus Directcu II 7970 graphic card to enhance the performance of the graphic card on your PC.

You will notice that some of the frames will be rendered late and you will have already moved to the next frame in the game. I was playing Saints Row the Third and because of this, the character looked like he is shaking because of cold. But Asus Directcu II 7970 is good if you need it for video editing or 3D rendering.

If you are searching a graphic card for gaming and you are confused between Asus Directcu II 7970 and Gigabyte GTX Windforce 670, then I suggest you to get Asus Directcu II 7970. It can run the game in high resolution and that too with anti-aliasing feature on. I am playing Dead Island on Asus Directcu II 7970 and I can get framerate of 100 fps to 120 fps at resolution of 1280 X 800 at 2xAA.

Also, I am getting framerate of 80 fps to 90 fps when running this game resolution of 1680 X 1050 with anti-aliasing set at 4xAA. I think Asus Directcu II 7970 is best graphic card if you going for gaming.

If you want to get GTX Windforce 670, then I suggest that you get that of MSI instead of Gigabyte. If comparison is made between GTX Windforce 670 manufactured by Gigabyte and MSI, then GTX Windforce 670 manufactured by MSI supports multiple monitor system much better than that of Gigabyte. If you are running on single monitor setup, then anyone of them is fine.

But I personally think that if you have been using Nvidia and want to still continue using its products, then GTX Windforce 670 is a good graphic card for you.

Re: Gigabyte GTX Windforce 670 vs. Asus Directcu II 7970

GTX Windforce 670 is great for overclocking. After overclocking Gigabyte GTX Windforce 670, I found that the performance of the graphic card increases by around 7%. Also the power consumption of GTX Windforce 670 is very much optimized as compared to that of Asus Directcu II 7970. So according to the performance that Asus 7970 provides, I think that it is the best value for money. Also Nvidia graphic card come with VSync feature which will help to avoid problems like micro-stuttering and lags when more than one graphic card is used.
