Here it is: The preferred edition of Windows for home desktop and mobile PCs. Microsoft Windows Vistas Advantages
    1. Accelerate the upgrade path to new Desktop OS - legacy applications continue to run in a virtual environment with a previous OS version
    2. Simplify IT integration of new subsidiaries by running two IT environments concurrently—i.e. the corporate one and the acquired company's one
    3. Drive business continuity by rapid reconstitution of corporate desktops
    4. Speed user adoption of desktop virtualization by making Virtual PCs "invisible" to users
    5. Centrally create, manage and deploy virtual PC images throughout the enterprise
    6. Provision and control user policies according to business affiliation and requirements

Re: What is your version of Windows Vista

Many localized companies might be better off purchasing Business Edition for their main computers and Ultimate Edition for any mobile computers requiring hard drive encryption. The real problem is that the buyer would be paying for some unnecessary features that would not be wanted by business enterprise. Enterprise Edition is designed for companies which may encounter situations where they may need many computers with hard drive encryption. In other words, it's basically useless for the end user and there's no real point in having it.

Windows Vista is essentially warmed-over Windows XP. If you're currently happy with Windows XP SP2, we see no compelling reason to upgrade. On the other hand, if you need a new computer right now, Windows Vista is stable enough for everyday use.

Enterprise is only available if you're part of Microsoft's Software Assurance program - you can't buy this version through any retail or OEM channels. It's basically the Business edition with a couple of added features such as multiple virtual licenses and some basic support for Unix applications.

I am using Vista Ultimate... but with dual boot with XP
