I have a VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition graphic card in my computer and I will be overclocking it in coming days. I have done overclocking many times, but it is better to ask for some help before I overclock VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition graphic card as it a expensive one and I canít afford to damage it. Can someone tell me about overclocking of this graphic card?

Re: VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition overclocking

You should have asked this question before purchasing the graphic card. There is an overclocked version of VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition graphic card available in market which you could have purchased. One thing that is best about overclocking of VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition is that you donít need to add extra cooling devices to maintain the temperature of graphic card. This graphic card itself has t6wo cooling fans on it which keep the base temperature of the graphic card low. With help of these dual fans, as soon as the heat is formed, it is eliminated.

Re: VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition overclocking

Not just the dual cooling fans give benefit to the graphic card while cooling, but the body that covers this graphic card is so well built that it provides a good airflow for it. Proper spaces and notches are designed that help to have a good airflow in this graphic card.

The body and the parts of VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition are designed so well that the cooling is focused on the VRMs and the memory chips. These are the most important parts of the graphic card and thus they have to be given the best cooling of all.

Re: VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition overclocking

The base frequency at which the VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition graphic card will be working is that of 880 MHz. But you can easily overclock it to make it reach 1050 MHz. With control on the temperature, you can even take it up to the frequency of 1425 MHz. All you need to do is to maintain low temperature and also the stability of your PC. But if you succeed to reach till frequency of 1425 MHz, I am sure that you will get the graphic processor of VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition to run at 5.5 GHz to 5.7 GHz.

For overclocking VTX3D Radeon HD7970 X Edition graphic card, you will need to be cautious as many people have claimed it to be somewhat unstable. A steep rise in the values of this graphic card and it might send temperature rising. This rise in temperature might cause the computer to crash suddenly and lead to lose of the changes that you have made to the graphic card.

You can try overclocking the graphic card using an updated version of BIOS as it will enhance and speed the process of overclocking.
