My system is having intel Core i7 2600k processor and I have tried overclocking its igpu to 1600Mhz with offset voltage 0.25v. The problem that I am facing with the same is that whenever I am trying to increase the frequency then the system is getting unstable. I just wanted to know if there can be any harm caused to cpu if I try increasing igpu offset voltage?? Any ideas?

Obviously yes if you over-clock your processor or graphics controller by increasing its frequency over stock then there are chances of them to be getting damaged. From what you have mentioned it seems you are having a stable system after overclocking igpu to 1600 MHz with offset voltage 0.25v right? If it is so then why are you willing to increase it further? I really won’t suggest you to do that, generally it is recommended to run the processor at default settings and you have already tried overclocking it further.

First of all I wanted to know that why are you trying to overclock the integrated gpu, I don’t think there will be much difference between its performance even when you will overclock it. If you are doing it for playing games then I will suggest you to better get a good gpu. There is no point in overclocking integrated gpu.

Yes I was doing it for playing games, actually I thought that I will be able to play some of the latest game by overclocking the IGPU. Anyways I think that I will have to now get a new gpu, I have asked about the same in other forums as well and all of them have suggested me the same.
I thought that I will get a positive response someone, actually I have spent my savings in getting this new Core i7 2600k processor and currently I am not having enough bucks to get any of the latest gpu. I will wait for a month and so and will get it soon.
