Intel i7 3770k maximum overclock, how much?

I build a new system with Intel i7 3770k and Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H, it is having a GeForce GTX 680 video card,8 Corsair gb ram and OCZ ZS series 650W power supply. I just wanted to what is the max that I can overclock my i7 3770k. I am having a little bit experience with over clocking and I am willing to try out the same with my new build but before that I just needed a rough idea and some tips that might be needed. Any suggestion regarding this will be appreciative.

I have not tried out overclocking but I have found that Intel i7 3770k can be easily overclocked till 4. 3 ghz. I have come across some people mentioning that they have overclocked their system with Intel i7 3770k till 4. 6 ghz and have attained the stability as well. So from this I think that you should not have any issue is overclocking your system between 4. 3 ghz and 4. 6 ghz. It would be better if you stay careful after 4. 3 ghz. One thing that is very important is the temperature no matter how much you are trying to overclock your system when the temp reaches 70 degree or a bit above than that then you should stop further overclocking, otherwise you will run in to some serious issues.

Yes I agree to you on that point, I am having Intel i7 3770k in my system and I have overclocked the same as well. From my experience 4.6 Ghz is the most stable, I had got it at 75 degrees. Since you have tried overclocking before I don’t think there might be something else that I need to add. I was thinking of overclocking it more as I had an expectation of 4.9 ghz with it but I really don’t have any regret now. It is working great at 4.6 Ghz as well, as far as tips is concerned just make sure that you are having conventional air cooling for your system. I really dint think that you should face any issue in achieving 4. 6 ghz, if at all you come across any issue then you can share it here, I will surely try to help you with it.

Re: Intel i7 3770k maximum overclock, how much?

I was able to overclock Intel i7 3770k @ 1.25v in my case with a temperature of 88 degree. The system was stable and I was not having any issue with it but I am currently sticking to 4.5 ghz because of the temps. You really need a good cooling for your cpu otherwise you won’t be able to get 4. 6 ghz. I am assuming that you are having a good cpu cooler as you have not mentioned it in your post. So if yes then just go ahead with overclocking and if you doubt it then let me know about it so that I can have a better idea of your system and will let you know the max overclock that you can attain.
