HD 6850 overclocking

Im new to overclocking and was wondering if anyone could clear up some questions i have. First of all i have looked at the guide on how to overclock ati cards but for some reason neither gpu tool nor ati tool work properly with my pc so im going to have to stick with msi afterburner for the clocking and furmark for the stress tests.

So my first question is. With afterburner, do i do the same method as was mentioned in the other guide? where i increase the core clock by 5-10mhz then burn it for 2-5 mins with furmark and keep doing this until it starts to artifact? also does this apply to the memory clock aswell? Or can i just increase both mem clock and core clock at the same time and test it that way?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

You should see this overclocking guide and see if you get some help from there.
