    P35 Platinum with Q9550 Overclocking

I have one and half year old P35 platinum and it worked smooth with E8400. Recently I have ordered a Q9550 that I want to Overclock slightly. Also I have overclocked my E8400 to 3.6 using settings with the same board. It runs around 8 hours. While gaming for continuous hours it got crashed than reset it to default. Please help me Overclock Q9550 with P35 platinum. I am looking for up to gain 10%.

From my self experience I would like to notify you that with the Q9550, its moderately VCore Auto up to 3,4GHz. You can steadily increase your FSB up to 400. Also you can use Prime95 to do stability tests. Make sure your DRAM FSB ratio is at 1:1. You can run your DRAM voltage at 1,9~1.95V to make certain a bit more stability. Increase your NB and FSB voltage to 1,25~1,3 if you experience volatility. I am sure my suggestion will help you to solve your overclocking.

Lately I have performed a flash the bios to install and use my Q9550 because my P35 motherboard had an older bios. The data was willingly accessible on the MSI site but I had just checked the CPU list and it was not as comprehensive as it should be. If I were you than I would have preferred the latest bios as it would be fine but use the flash tool. I have used and every thing worked fined and successfully implemented.

I installed the Q9550 and its implementation in the default configuration, the difference is very noticeable in Bad Company 2 as its optimized quad, so I'm pretty happy. Interestingly, my refrigerator is running Arctic only 40 degrees at rest, which is a few degrees lower than my E8400 was running so maybe I did a better job of 'seats' my refrigerator this time. I was content just to see the better side of 3.00 Ghz etc to take into account is the property of MSI DOT of any use, since only they would use it in 6 or 7%, and I went to bios overclock.

I would like to share my method with you all My CPU has a VID of 1.1 volts. When manually increase the voltage in the bios that suggests anything red can cause instability and 1.1875 is the first increase is highlighted in red. This seems a little low to me a warning, the MSI to be cautious as the Q9550 can go higher than that. This pressure reached to 3.3 GHz so far, but increase the time it's safe to raise the voltage. I would beat a 3.4 GHz stable as Bernhard arrived safely my ram is running at the correct speed (800) with the divider set at 1:1. This will help you for sure.

The speed achieved depends on members FSB. If your ratio is 1:1, then a 400FSB speed will result 800mem. If 350, then 700, etc. If you changed your FSB / DRAM ratio, then the speed of the MEM will be adjusted according to the new relationship. You can also check what the relationship will get closer to its current 800 FSB.
