Unable to push over 3.6ghz in i3 540

I am very very fresh to overclocking . When I tried to over clock my CPU I stuck at the point of 3.6ghz. I have checked temperatures, everythins was proper. The prime95 also showing good. I am using intel core i3 540. I can boot up into windows at 3.7 GHz but whenever I try to run it the prime 95 gives me an error. I have x23 multiplier 1.25v vcore and 1.303 VTT. Can anyone help me to get out of this issue? I dint go for further try because I have already told you I am new to OC.

Have tried lowering the multiplier of CPU and apparently raising voltages? If that won’t work then it might be something you have to do with the current voltage settings. First of all lower your VTT voltage a bit and maximize Vcore voltage to 2 points and see. It might help you. Only the workers will fail when you run the prime. The computer will not going to reboot at all.

Did you double check the CPU-Z result? Please check that before, see anything has been assigned wrong or not. Also check the temp chart or details of CPU. It may be going to help you somewhat. When you were assigning voltages does it going to accept those values? Sometime the processor or BIOS will not take the voltage which you are mentioned manually. It just uses the default voltage and continuing to overclock with same.

What about your RAM voltages, and QPI set? Try altering those voltages because they are somewhat related to CPU overclock. But ensure that do not raise the voltage at once. Raising one by one notch check the result. How you are using the RAM sticks. If think wrong configuration of RAM is also cause this issue. So do not leave any RAM slot behind while overclocking.
