Pentium E2140 Dual Core 1.60 GHz overclocked to 3.00 GHz

I was trying to overclock Intel Pentium E2140 Dual Core Processor 1.60 GHz to 3.00 GHz. The problem is that my bios is crippled and hence I cannot change anything regarding the regulation of my cpu. If I am trying to change the frequency then my computer system is freezing and I am forced to reset! I board and try SetFSB my pll is not! Here is my configuration; I mean to say the computer systems configuration! Motherboard: Intel 945gct-nm! Processor: Intel dual core 1.6 GHz 2140. RAM: 2048 DDR2. Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 512 MB GDDR3. I also tried to update the driver but I was unable to do so. Can anyone help me please!

You just need to change your case mode. I am also having Intel Pentium E2140 Dual Core Processor and it is working very well. It depends on what you intend to do with, but considering your graphics card, the E2140 is more than enough especially since I managed to push mine to 2.92ghz with only 1.35V Vcore but I am not sure about 3 ghz. Basically the difference that is left between you system and my system is very less, so you can try to do that. But as I have said the I have not tried 3 ghz so just think twice before doing that. See I am not an expert related to this. I think that you must try to find out some more information related to this processor. I hope that someone will definitely provide details information related to this processor.

Incorporating an 800MHz FSB, they are similar to E4x00, except they have only 1MB of L2 CAHE instead of 2. They have the advantage of being compatible with all motherboards on socket 775, including those for Core2Duo. Consumption and minimal heat perfectly mastered make them serious competitors to the Athlon 64 X2 3600 and 3800 or more. These are a bit cheaper but does not have the same overclocking ability, indeed, the Power PC site that looked at the model E2140 managed to increase its frequency to 90%!

Returning to the Core architecture that made the success of Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core specifications show a slight decrease compared to the original version: Intel has chosen 1MB of cache at Level 2 and retains the 800 MHz BUS Family 4000. These technical options aimed at ensuring a level of performance particularly impressive despite a cost to purchase very low. In short we can say these things about the processor. It consumes low power for quieter operation, 1 MB L2 Cache memory with Intel Advanced Smart Cache, Etching 65nm and Ideal for small-sized PC

I played Counter Strike Source, which is a game that requires still a good CFG for the 100 FPS. So I attached the GeForce 8800 GT that much more efficient for Counter Strike Source, result: My CPU has the Bride, lack of power. I heard today spoke of Overclocking! I tried fiddling in the BIOS but no result, I do not understand now how I can achieve that. I tried the software to which I do not understand either. Can you help me how to overclock my CPU, I know that similar kind of question is asked and again I am asking this. I am doing thing because I am not satisfied from the replies.
