Need details input on i5 760 for overclocking

My first question would be whether it is really useful to gain performance for gaming, overlock my processor? Configuration of my system: haf 922 case and noctua nh U12P se2 cm:-e asus P7P55D. Processor is i5 760 RAM: G. Skill Kit Extreme 2 GB PC12800. Gigabyte GTX 460 buying my turn last week the vendor told me that he had managed to overclock without any problem on i5 760 to 4ghz. So I tried to 3.3 ghz but the process was at 60 degrees without doing anything that scare me therefore tried the option from below at 2.93 ghz but it is far from 4ghz. I then tried instantly via auto tuner in the bios to me directly put the processor to 3.6 ghz.

I think I am also in the need of similar solution. I would like some information on overclocking the processor and the ram, the options useful, what to do, touch, do not touch, what software is useful, what's to manipulation, that is what must be done exclusively in the bios, what can be done from windows etc. So if you have any info on that or if there are tutorials that can help me out then I would be eternally grateful and thank you in advance to illuminate a small beginning. I will be waiting for your related reply.

I overclocked my i5 760 to 4GHz, I want to leave at any time at this frequency, so I would like your opinion on whether I can leave these settings or if I should change a few things in the bios configuration to make the most stable or improve the temperatures. here is my configuration: Cooler Master Sniper Storm, Corsair TX650W, Point of View GTX 470 1280Mo, F3-Samsung SpinPoint 1 TB SATA II, NH-U12P Cooler, Intel Core i5 760, Asus E-P7P55D. I have only touched the bios and these are the changes I have done. Disable "turbomode", 1.3V vcore has a 190-BCLK. Coeff was 21. I can mount up to 22 it would be better to 22 and 180 in BCLK. Is there any other parameter that you would like to advise me to change in bios?

According to my knowledge some manage to go below this value, but not all if it passes you can try to lower the voltage and it should rise to 1.25 and change the following parameters. CPU Ratio Setting: 20.0, BCLK Frequency: 200, PCIE Frequency: 100, DRAM Frequency: DDR3-1600Mhz, QPI Frequency: 7202 MHz, CPU Voltage: 1.2750v, BMI Voltage: 1.20v, Dram Voltage: 1.60V, CPU PLL Voltage: 1.80v, PCH Voltage: 1.05V. I want to 1.2750v Vcore but it depends on CPU. Or you can set the value of parameter like this "QPI Frequency: 7202Mhz, Dram Voltage: 1.60V, CPU PLL Voltage: 1.80v, PCH Voltage: 1.05V”. For the ram is 1.65 max, for others they are default values and push the vcore to 1275, 1.3 etc till it passes. Then you can try to diminish the value.
