GA-X58A-UD3R need help to get to 4.0 or 4.2GHz

Sponsored Links
I have Intel i7 920 with a GA-X58A-UD3R and Corsair 1600 3x2GB. I was capable to obtain 3.8Ghz actually with no trouble however I haven't be capable to catch to 4.0 or 4.2GHz. Temps are all right, characteristically 62-64 degree C Maximum beneath 100% load Prime95. On one occasion I go to CPU ratio of 20 or 21 the machine will freeze on Prime95 every now and then follow by a BSOD. I see a post at this point discussing regarding altering the Load-line Calibration and the Dynamics Vcore.Any suggestion where to go next would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I also looking for overclocking help and just reading this post I just want to know how that Gigabyte board performs.i have tried the setting mentioned above to get 4GHz overclocking. But with the setting mentioned above I am also getting 3.86GHz and my temperatures reaches up to 90 degree Celsius just after playing game for five minutes. Will this has any effect to my system?

My Settings used for this board are the same as follows, give these a attempt however I would attempt for 200blk rather not 205blk to start with, don’t put down any voltage on Auto, If you unable to set it manually then keep it set to normal, you will have to provide a number of nb voltage manually although.

Advanced CPU Features:

Re: GA-X58A-UD3R need help to get to 4.0 or 4.2GHz

Hello Guys, I have this similar board X58A-UD3R with the i7 930, except that I'm having problem keeping it cool. I've moved out all the way through above settings for the BIOS, and at a unassuming 3.66 GHz, I'm on 40 idle and 80 load. I'm having a Corsair H50 cooler. If you have any suggestion what should I do to get it cooler please let me know? I'm in suspense to obtain it to 4GHz. I'm using Arctic Silver 5, applied a slim line behind the center of the CPU earlier than putting on the cooler. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: GA-X58A-UD3R need help to get to 4.0 or 4.2GHz

Tried a mixture of combinations to obtain the heat lesser, as well as the most excellent subsequently far has been adding up two 120mm exhaust fans on the peak of my case as well as spinning downward the Vcore a bit, plus my load temps have go down a small, to 72 C. I have the push setup by means of my Corsair H50 running. Experience similar to I've completed pretty to a great extent each and every one I can actually out-of-the-way from changing the heatsink Going to attempt extra tomorrow in addition to jumble approximately further through BIOS settings.

Re: GA-X58A-UD3R need help to get to 4.0 or 4.2GHz

I do not have too much knowledge about overclocking. I am new to Overclock and Bios settings in general. Foremost setting the memory to their suggested maxes light upbeat the cpu and ddr Voltage word of warning leds toward green, which I recognize is insignificant other than lights are good enough, or else is it achievable to run the ram at 1600 through no word of warning lights? My specification are:

Core i7-930
GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
Crucial Ballistix 12GB (6 x 2GB) PC3-12800 CL8, 1.65V
PNY Nvidia Quadro FX1800
WD CB 1TB Sata 6.0
