I was also unable to overclock GA-X48-DQ6 & Q9550 E0. I have upgraded my BIOS to F8D and follow the settings you have given but idi not get any benefit from it. currently I am having stock cooler with Gigabyte 3D mercury case. I want to know why I am unable to overclock?

    Re: Cannot Overclock with my GA-X48-DQ6 & Q9550 E0

You are missing mixed memory speed and size. I would suggest you to use only one set 2x2GB will be best if you need memory. You can try this settings for 3.2GHz using the 2x2 kit:
    Robust Graphics Booster: FAST
    CPU Clock Ratio : 8
    Fine Clock Ratio :0.5
    CPU Host Clock Control:Enabled
CPU Host Frequency (MHz): 399 or 401
    PCI Express Frequency (Mhz):100
    C.I.A. 2isabled
System Memory Multiplier (SPD): 2.00B or D = 800MhzDRAM Timing
    Selectable SPD :Manual

    Performance Enhance : Standard

    CAS Latency Time: 5
    Dram RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
    Dram RAS# Precharge Delay:5
    Precharge Delay (tRAS):18

ACT to ACT Delay (tRRD): 3-4
    Rank Write to READ Delay:3-6
    Write to Precharge Delay: 4-8
    Refresh to ACT Delay: 52-62
    Read to Precharge Delay: 3-5
    Static tRead Value:6-8
    Static tRead Phase Adjust: Auto

    System Voltage Control: Manual
    DDR2 OverVoltage Control:+0.300V = 2.1V
    PCI-E OverVoltage Control: Auto
    FSB OverVoltage Control:+0.1V
    (G)MCH OverVoltage Control: +0.2-0.3V
    CPU Voltage Control:1.25
    No-Execute Memory Protect: Enabled
    CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E): Disabled
    C2/C2E State Support: Disabled
    x C4/C4E State Support: Disabled
    CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2): Enabled
    CPU EIST Function: Disabled
    Virtualization Technology: Disabled

    Re: Cannot Overclock with my GA-X48-DQ6 & Q9550 E0

I just follow the steps being mentioned by you and now I am getting CPU overclock and it reached to 3.65GHZ with fsb of 420. Thank you for your rely to do changes in settings. I run prime95 to check the stability and nothing happened within 1 hour, instead one of the core speed reaches to 71. But I have one doubt does overclocking will effect to my computer life age?

    Re: Cannot Overclock with my GA-X48-DQ6 & Q9550 E0

71C is the limit set by the intel for core 2 and it is very hot as you are getting the maximum. With my Q9450 default speed 2.66GHz now I am getting 3.5GHz and getting only 60C but ambient temperature is something around 20-25Cx which is lower as compare your I think at your location gets too hot even with air conditioning.Putting more voltage and temperature will lower the lifetime of CPU. If you keep your temperature as low as possible then this woulds will help you to get your temp life max. Pr4ime95 is not the most suggested software as other generate much heat such as IntelBurn test.
