    Problems while overclocking GTX 260

Have here a GTX 260-216. The maximum temperature at the map in Furmark Burning Extreme Mode is 55°C. Thanks since, it is alternatively cool, that would still room for improvement. I've just tried with NiBiTor to change the voltage. So last with Voltage Table Editor voltage of 1.06 V to 1.26 V and stored. Then flashed with nvflashw in Windows (it worked, checked habs) and reboot done. However, according to GPU-Z, the voltage is still at only 1.06 V. I am not able to find out the mistakes.!! Please help me out.

Does your GTX 260 digital voltage converter shows the correct readings? If not, then you can flash the voltage via BIOS or software not increase further. Why do not you just overclock times without increasing the voltage? The current is proportional to the voltage, and the power loss is proportional to the square of the current .... In plain language: It is very fast very inefficient.

There are very few 55nm versions can be put to other stresses (eg my MSI Twin Frazer-> Voltaire but not flash-able). Moreover, 1.26 V is extremely high, as you would get off the underload SpaWas, I had my limit with 1.18 V and a very (!) Achieved good cooler. However, you should see the BIOS set the value of 1.12 V in Nibitor that is the standard voltage of Nvidia, so try it once.

Well - my GTX280 running volt with 1,225. and have Accelero GTX pro on it and the cooler tied with thermal adhesive. If under the Accelero to last at least 50% of the voltage transformer is to remain with me at just under 90°C. It withstand 120°C and there are already 1.26 volt or (if the fan rotates at least 75%, the Accelerate is still barely audible). with the reference cooler is of course nothing to do, but he has assembled another.

Trust in GPUz not, but relatively easy times as hot is the card when you switch from 1.06 to 1.12. The GTX280 has that I know of a better power supply, because the chip does more eating. Are there any really like Prime95 for GPUs? That you can check the accuracy of the calculations? Furmark is only for testing the heat .. You should really properly address the issue again. 1.26 volts will not run stable and may even harm your graphic card sustainable. It known to be the chip, not only with the voltage-scaled but also with the temperature. Ie 1.26 V at 80°C are inferior to overclock than 60°C at 1.12 V. Quite apart from the off with your security SpaWas with 1.26 V.
