    Upgrading Dell Inspiron Laptop

I want to know that how to update a laptop. This file is not intended to show how to disassemble a laptop, because it is something that depends on the machine, but rather to explain what components are modified and how it is possible to replace them. In the case, we will make many allusions to the dell Inspiring platform and this is normal: It is not because we prefer Intel but simply because the Centrino dominate the world of portable PCs.

Unlike a desktop PC, the possibilities of upgrade hardware of a laptop is quite limited. It must therefore not expect a dramatic leap in performance. In addition, replacement of components is not always the easiest. Adding memory to a laptop. This is easiest to achieve, still need to know where to find the location of the memory modules: sometimes under a flap on the underside of the laptop, sometimes the keyboard. The manual of the laptop will often be necessary to locate them.

This is a bit more complex: we have, as in the case of memory modules, locate the door concealing the hard disk. It is generally set on a rack and therefore they have to unscrew it, then retrieve the pin adapter attached to the front of the disk, reinstall the new drive identically to eventually reinstall the operating system. Unlike desktop PCs, laptops generally offer the option to install only one hard drive. These drives are formatted 2.5 "(cons 3.5" for desktop PCs). The interface is most often the PATA or UDMA. The capacity for the moment not exceed 100 GB for maximum rotation speed of 7,200 rpm, with a mean at 5400 rpm. They should also monitor the buffer size (8 MB currently), significant disk performance and noise.

To replace a CD or Combo DVD / CD burner with a DVD drive, it going most of the time have to go through the manufacturer of the computer to expect to find compatible hardware. While optical drives desktops are usually offered in standard format 5.25 ", it is not true for laptops, racks are often different from one manufacturer to another. It is sometimes not possible to change the drive, the latter being incorporated directly into the casing of the laptop. The only solution in this case will acquire a USB or Firewire external drive.

If your laptop was originally configured with Windows Vista Home Edition Premium, Business or Ultimate, HP recommends that you get the original operating system before you put your laptop to Windows 7. For instructions on the process of recovery, see the " Usage Manager backup and recovery . See also the document " Upgrading to Windows 7 "to obtain installation instructions. HP does not recommend changing the operating system of your laptop for Windows 7. HP does not publish drivers or software for laptop models not listed in the table.

In the case, we will make many allusions to the platform and this is normal : it is not because we prefer Intel but simply because the Centrino dominate the world of portable PCs and components they are relatively standardized , unlike AMD platforms that use a lot more models of chipsets and wireless cards (among others). We 'll also talk (to a lesser extent) Apple machines, which represent nearly 10% of sales of laptops worldwide.
