Core 2 duo T7250 OC with setfsb

I cannot seem to find the correct clock generator in set fsb for my CPU my chipset on my laptop is PM965 and my CPU is the core 2 duo T7250 I am using a dell precision M6300. I would not ever over clock a laptop. Marginal gains and increased heat on a cooling system previously wrung appealing dry. Under volting on the other hand is something I fully maintain what you think for the similar.

The Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 presents, 2.0 GHz per core, 2mb accumulation, 800Mhz FSB, SLA49 stepping. It would create an extremely cost effectual upgrade from a lower spec Core 2 Duo or the similar to. But over clocking is bit hazardous on this. I not suggest you do that.

For the Intel Core 2 Duo’s characteristically you over clock by basically raising the FSB (front side buss). This speed is position at 266Mhz for the E6xxx-X6800. The FSB is position at 200Mhz for the e4xxx series. Raising the FSB is the merely technique to over clock your Core 2 Duo, unless it is an engineer sample chip or an X6800+ (together of these have unlocked multipliers.).

To over clock your Intel Core 2 Duo by using the multiplier, you basically modify that number to a higher numeral than its stock multiplier. For illustration an engineer sample chip E6300 has a multiplier of 7x, but you be able to modify it to a higher value, say 9x. If you abscond the FSB at 266, then 9x266 = 2400Mhz = 2.4Ghz.

When you over clock your CPU by raising the FSB, you not merely over clock the CPU, but you in addition over clock your PCI-E. On the majority motherboards you be able to lock your PCI-E to 100Mhz (suggested). By over clocking your CPU by upping the FSB, you in addition cause your RAM to be over clocked. But is that a terrible thing. Yes and no. For cheap value RAM you cannot over clock your RAM much at the entire.

You would be fortunate with 50-100 MHz. By basically changing your RAM/CPU divider you be able to regulate your RAM speed in addition. Characteristically a superior stable over clock consists of the RAM and the CPU working at a 1:1 ratio. For illustration if your CPU’s FSB speed set to 400 MHz and you are in a 1:1 ratio, then your RAM determines to demonstrate up as working at 400 MHz in the BIOS. For the reason that it is DDR2 the RAM is essentially working at 800 MHz effectual, which are PC6400 stock speeds.

The socket 775 Motherboards regularly supports dissimilar types of DDR2 Memory. The Motherboards natively uphold 533 MHz DDR2 the entire the way up to 800 MHz DDR2. It is probably to work faster memory similar to DDR2-1000 and even higher similar to 1200Mhz, but this is merely probably by changing the CPU/RAM divider or over clocking the CPU via FSB. When looking at RAM, and the speed of the RAM there are two things to obtain into account. What is the rated speed of the RAM. The DDR2 memory characteristically ranges from 533 MHz to upwards of 1200 MHz. The memory occurrence is not the merely thing to look at when comparing the speed of RAM. The timings or latencies are in addition significant.
