Well, no problem in that you are going for some big challenges in the gaming zone. You should ask the same in this way : One 4870 vs 5770 Xfire? Do you need to ask?

EDIT: Or do you mean 4870 Xfire vs. 5770 Xfire.

For this, just use a 4870x2's benchies. You could also use a 5870 to stand in if you could get nothing in such situation, since they do almost exactly the similar.

4870 in Xfire vs 5770 In XFire. Which is faster

I would speak to you that they are fine evenly matched. provided the prices of each one and I would mostly go with the 5770 in crossfire because ATI will keep moving to optimize the drivers for the 5000 series and it has good support for latest games. i.e. DX11

Thanks for such a good knowledgeable discussion and if you all have any similar issues with you related to this then reply here with your issues...

    4870 xfire vs 5770xfire, 5850 or 5870 ?

    Hi guys !

I am running with 2 4870's(512) in xfire and now I decided to upgrade. Is upgrading to 2 5770's the similar as what I have now, or is it good ? I am in stuck between three options 2x 5770's, 5850 or a 5870? I play at 1920x1200 resolution and I figured out that lack of vram hurts in specific games. I am unable to decide what I have to do in this situation .

    Thanks for any suggestion.

4870 in Xfire vs 5770 In XFire. Which is faster

Multi-GPU is only worthwhile in case, if you are pairing the more and more quicker single cards available in order to attain the maximum acceptable performance. Pairing two mid-range cards instead of a single quicker doesn't make sense. And I would suggest you to go for the 5870.

    2 5770's for 310$ = a 5870 for 400$
    2 5750's for 250$ = a 5850 for 290$

I have read so many reviews on the same topic and finally got that they actually recommend 2 4890's over a 5870 in the 400 dollar range that is very interesting thing. Your 4870's in crossfire will only be improved upon by 58XX's in crossfire.

In terms of raw performance, the 4890's are mostly the good buy, but I would go with a single 5870 due to its using less power, producing less heat, running quieter, picking up minimum space, and supporting DX11.

And not having any Crossfire problems. Single card > dual cards when performance is going bad equal. You get exact similar speed, but none of the disadvantages or potential pitfalls of a dual-GPU configuration, like the possibility of poor scaling, microstuttering, no scaling etc.In addition to entire benefits noted through the above post.
