    XFX 4890 poor overclock

    Hello friends,
If you have already read the tests XFX 4890, you know it is very noisy and gives off a lot of heat! So I decided my Watercooler crossfire of 4890. I also bought a tube of 13/19 PVC fittings and caps. If you are used to mount watercooling, it is needless to say that buying PVC pipe was a bad idea. I would now like to find another type of connection and if possible with a smaller diameter tube. Maybe I am not doing the correct thing. So please explain me about the XFX 4890 overclocking as soon as possible.!!

    Hello,
Your editing system is interesting, I find it very compact (I like it when it is stored). Do you have iMac's fans on the side door? If not for your editing, I think any pipe 8 / 10 will do. After you take flexible or not, as you prefer. I think that your waterblock is quite restrictive due to their very low thickness. But I'm not a pro in the field. After I think the choice of pipe is not as important as choosing the rad / pump / waterblock.

The fans blowing toward the outside of the box and on this model, there is no fan on the side. Regarding the tube, I wonder if it is well suited to the capacity of the pump (190 to 250 l / h)? What is the interest to use an 8 / 10 instead of 13/19 or vice versa? The following information regarding cooling maybe useful for you :
Reservoir: Waterblock BAY Spin Reservoir - Acetal
    Pump: Swiftech MP350
    Waterblock: Heatkiller Rev3.0 LC
Radiator: Magicool - Pro 240 Radiator
    Liquid: Liquid cooling pure car
Hose: Hose High Quality UV Reactive MASTERKLEER 10/13mm ORANGE
    Ends: DocMicro - Metal Right Nipple 1 / 4 "hose 10/13mm - GOLD PLATE
    Rheobus: Zalman ZM-MFC3
    Neons: 2x30cm UV

AMD has highlighted the possibilities in terms of overclocking these new graphics cards, we have sought to maximize our Radeon HD 4890. For this, we simply use the overdrive function of Catalyst drivers. Thus we have spent the frequency of the graphics chip 850 MHz to 1000 MHz maximum authorized by the pilot. At this frequency, a 3DMark Vantage 1920x1200 proved stable, without any artifact while the performance gain obtained after overclocking was 9%.

You can increase the overall consumption of the system, using a power meter, with two measures: consumption at rest without activity or the graphics card or processor, and consumer support that corresponds to the maximum reached during a session 3DMark Vantage 2560x1600. There is an overall lower power consumption at rest, for the GeForce GTX NVIDIA. Besides the shift to 55nm on GeForce GTX 275 and 285 can further reduce this parameter. While at rest system with a Radeon HD 4000 will consume a little over 190 watts, the same system with a GeForce GTX 160 consumes in watts. In support, the deal is reversed and the GeForce GTX tend to consume more than the Radeon HD 4000. The GeForce GTX 275 consumes 30 watts more than the Radeon HD 4890.

Ultimately then, the Radeon HD 4890 has resulted in an overclocked Radeon HD 4870, simply. We also have fun of seeing the overclocked Radeon HD 4890 from manufacturers such as XFX, since this involves the overclocking overclocked version! Moreover, in this regard, the gain offered by the model XXX from XFX is certainly commendable, but frankly not transcendent. Designed to make us wait until the arrival of DirectX 11 graphics chip, the Radeon HD 4890 should be trading around 219 euros, a suggested retail price, which makes it particularly attractive although higher than those applied to the current Radeon HD 4870 1 GB.
