    Overclocking 9600gt with Rivatuner

    Hi,
I had just purchased a Nvidia 9600 GT GPU for my system. For playing a high end graphic game I think a little bit overclocking is much better rather pushing the GPU to its limit. I had never overclocked my GPU till now. But new games are much demanding now. I need some help in the same. What you recommend in this case. What is the performance of this GPU after overclocking.

Rivatuner is a nice and simple utilty for overclocking. Let's look all the same on the second, for those who are not familiar with the architecture of Nvidia graphics processors. Since the GeForce 8 GPUs chameleon use two different clocks, one being applied only on the scalar ALU (the famous stream processors) forming units unified shading. The other is applied to the rest of the chip.

Via RivaTuner can therefore increase both frequency and Shader Core leaving the ratio of 2.5 or try to change this proportion. This is not necessarily useful, but can afford to snatch a few MHz, each portion of the GPU may have different frequency limits. In practice, however, do not expect to win much. Rivatuner features three sliders Core Clock (Clock Heart) Shader Clock (shader clock) and Memory Clock (memory clock).

Side overclocking the 9600 GT does not prove any great ehlp. 9600GT has a very high GPU frequency which 650 MHz and 1625 MHz for stream processors. I had tried to overclocked the same to similar limits. The 512 MB of GDDR3 for their part have been from 900 MHz to 1120 MHz, or 24% which is good. Age of Empires III running in 1680 x 1050 progresses from stroke by a good percentage.

In comparisons, the GeForce 7900 GTX and especially the popular GTO are often forgotten. However before the launch of the GeForce 8800, NVIDIA had granted the opportunity of selling MSI his former high-end - the GeForce 7900 GTX - under the name GeForce 7900 GTO. During this same period, ATI launched the Radeon X1950 XTX 512MB, ultimate evolution of its architecture DirectX 9.

The GPU also consume little, which allows them to be discreet about the noise level. Unfortunately, the Radeon HD 3800 suffering heavy losses in performance when the filters are active. This problem is much less known to the general public. Under its cooling system, the GeForce 9600 GT is, without being pejorative, rather rudimentary. The PCB is simpler as the power stage.
