    Overclocking Asus EAH5870

    hi
i am looking forward to get this Asus EAH5870 which i found better than 5850 also provides good gaming support, but another intention is to try overclocking with it i had XFX 8800 which is not good with overclocking so please tell me about its overclocking capability .
    thanks

    Re: Overclocking Asus EAH5870

To assess the scope for overclock Asus EAH5870 proceeded first to seek the maximum clock frequency of GPU and memory without tackling the supply voltage of the GPU, and second time by acting on this parameter. Until the clock frequency of 950 MHz for the GPU i have managed to maintain the supply voltage of default, and to achieve and exceed quota 1000 MHz it was necessary to act overvolt. To maintain full operational stability in overclocking the speed of rotation of the fan was increased to 100% of the panel Catalyst driver the operating noise increases significantly, rising from 46 decibels measured at idle with fan automatically to just above 76 decibels increased to 100% fan speed monitoring

Increasing clock frequency of the GPU and video memory performance scale proportionally has gained more than 15% of frames per second at both resolutions, passing from the defaults (850 MHz GPU and 4800 MHz memory) to those especially since it was possible to maintain full stability, corresponding to 1,050 MHz for the GPU and 5280 MHz for the video memory.

The rotational speed of the fan has been forced to the maximum allowed by acting on the appropriate panel found in ATI Catalyst drivers by doing so you get a containment of operating temperatures although with a noise level of operation that is in fact unacceptable Note that the peak temperature due to the fan increased to 100%, has almost reached 60 degrees Celsius system mounted within a chassis and an ambient temperature of 21 degrees centigrade.
