AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 temperature issue

I just bought a AMD Athlon 64 FX-60 to upgrade my old setup which was beginning to show signs of weakness. But what upsets my expectation is that this processor is too hot in my opinion! 43° at rest, without overclocking. Is this normal for this type of processor? Yet I well cared for cooling (Zalman CNPS 9500-CU, Thermal Paste Arctic Silver Case Termaltake...)

Let me add that I simply can not go up in frequency beyond 5% (errors beyond a minute OCCT) same my 3500+ without a murmur rose to 2.65 GHz (Yet etched in 0.13)

    What do you think?

I have an Opteron 185 that is a clone and I was about it like temperatures with a zalman 9500 cu. Moreover temperatures worried me as compared to the x2 4200 mounted on the same motherboard. Question overclocking it could get to 2800 stable and had already passed 2900.

This processor is the latest variation of the socket 939 so should not expect an extraordinary overclocking and it is clear that hot, especially if not properly installed. It may be just passing the test to be a fx 60 nothing more.

    Thank you for your reply

This takes my mind is that overclocking is validated by Super PI ScienceMark and other bench, but invalidated after one minute Orthos, CPU Stress MT, OCCT ... Is this normal?

Moreover, as I stated, my old 3500+ engraved in 0.13 micron was widely better overclocking and temperature mastery! I'm quite certain it can go much farther.

Anyway I expect that my book of sandpaper in water (1200/1500/2000), I'll answer to earn 5 or 7 degrees, and if I massacre I say that I at least tried. And it remains for me to try to torture my i7

Have you checked if the thermal paste is well applied? And what about ram? Did you tried the out of sync down to see if the problem does not come from there?

By the way, you talked about 5% of overclocking. DO NOT USE SELF TOOLS FOR OVERCLOCKING IN THE BIOS! For starters, your ratio rises, as it is released.
