The best way is to overclock a computer from the BIOS. In the BIOS you have several options (depending on your motherboard) to make sure that your computer optimal performance. The front side bus (FSB) is the connection between the CPU and the northbridge. It is one of the main routes within one system. Increasing the FSB speed increase will also cause the processor. This is the front-side bus coupled to the processor. FSB is sometimes as CPU frequency in HT in the BIOS.

It is difficult for the multiplier in simple language to explain. If we look very simple then the multiplier is a sort set of gears (like a bicycle). As you go up the multiplier the higher CPU clocks. The beauty of this is that the multiplier is always multiplied by the FSB. check here for more Overclocking tutorial for newbies/beginners and Increase FSB or CPU Multiplier

HyperTransport example is the memory used to communicate with the video card. Really big performance gains if you do not get this overclocked. Make sure that the speed is always around the base rate remains. You can do this by using dividers (dividers).

    Dividers
Once the processor will overclock the FSB your memory will automatically effect. To avoid that you have to use so called "dividers" . In short imagine that you use a 1:2 divider then you get this:

    •RAM (1:2 divider): 400MHz (Bus Speed) x ½ (denominator) x 2 (DDR) = 400MHz
    •RAM (without divider): 400MHz (HT / Bus Speed) x 2 (DDR) = 800MHz
    •CPU (1:2 divider): 400MHz (HT / Bus Speed) x 9 (Multiplier) = 3600MHz
    •CPU (without divider): 400MHz (HT / Bus Speed) x 9 (Multiplier) = 3600MHz
