    problem with Dell Cooling

I have a Dell Dimension 8100 with a p4 3ghz processor and 775 socket compatablity. I have some problems with its fan, everytime I lauch any program the fan starts to give some sound and it blows at a high speed. So I think that the paste on the heatsink is almost over or it might be the fan issue. So can anyone tell me what is the best heatsink that I can use to replace the old ones. Thank you

I think that if you have a good tower then you shouldnt worry about the replacing the heatsink. But if you dont then I suggest you to buy:
ZALMAN CNPS8700 2 Ball CPU Cooler or
    ZALMAN 9500A 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler

So, the last thing you can do is you have to remove the motherboard to install the cooler.
Searching the forums can help you to find your answers more quickly

First can you tell us how high the dell temperature gets too. If the temperature reaches 65+ Celcius then you are on the high side of things. Consider cleaning the vents/fan areas. Best if you can reapply thermal compound.
