Intel core i7 running too hot

I have recently purchased the Intel Core i7 920 . My specs are:

    • i7 920
    • GA-EX58-UD3R
    • 2 GB DDR-3

Idle temp is around 91 F
    Load temp is 130 F

Isn't it too hot? any ideas?

Which temp program you are using to check the i7 temperature? is it the Bios ratings? best is to use either Core Temp , Real Temp or CPU-Z. How long it does take to reach 90C? 90C is really abnormal? have you done any modification like overclocking etc?

This much temp is not possible to come if every piece of hardware working fine on your mobo. Either you have a broken diode or the software you're using is no good. Open your cabinet and do some dust cleaning. Check the CPU fan . Use realtemp. The only way you could get low temps is with phase change cooling. Check your BIOS and see what clocks you are running. Without the proper cooling & configuration you could damage something.
