    Datech CPU Fan

I'm looking to replace the case/CPU fan on my Dimension 4550. The Datech one is very noisy but I don't want to buy something that's not fully compatible with the computer. Can any body tell me that how do i reduce the datech fan noise? Kindly provide me the correct solution for the above issue. Any kind of help on the above issue would be appreciated.

I have a Dell Dimension 8100 with the same fan failure. Some nice detective work, specifically with regard to the Datech you located at Directron. Consuming very little power, the high-speed fan cools a system with an impressive 82 CFM, running at 4000 RPM.

It's the case fan. Datech 9232-12HBTL DC12V 0.70A. I am not sure, but I think the 3-pin connector is universal throughout all manufactorers, the only problem is if it universal, you need to make sure you get the same size fan. But I am not totally positive the connector part.

I tried dell technical support to see if they would admit it was a known problem but it was like walking through treacle and a total waste of a phone call. However, they have to be able to give you a replacement for it.
