Overclock / unlock Asus A7V8Z-LA

hi ,
i have Asus A7V8Z-LA with AMD AthlonXP 2400 which i wanted to overclock it but as go through the bios i found some options are grayed out whichis not available for me so for overclocking can any one help me to unlock it and tell me how can i overclock ..for more i am new learner......

Normally what you want to do without problems. set your cpu frequency manually, then set your fsb to 166, then for your ram, as i have set the ram at 166. If this boot, it is possible that your cpu requires a bit more vCore..I suppose your vCore to 1.65v should be, and it would be a possible to have to exceed the 1.75-1.8v to reach the frequency you want. Let use good cooler for cpu .

I advise you to go manual and set up a little the FSB. you must be home to 133. You should be able to get to 140 easily. another thing about bios is you can unlock by updating your bios to latest one.you need to flash Asus A7V8Z-LA bios and get new one

make 13.5 * 140 = 1890 Mhz. .Not insane but a gain in the gain of the gain proc + FSB should make a little more.

i htink you are you are new learner then why you want to go with bios my advice just change fsb memory ratio and do not touch else use overclocking utility like cpuz , and gpuz another option can be rivatuner. Its always good to use benchmark before actual overclocking to check the hardware strength.
