    Overclocking p4 630 cpu

    Hi,

    I'm busy trying to overclock my P4 630 3.0ghz.

With some knowledge on my AMD platform, I knew up to 4.2 ghz with a vCore of 1.65 and there he was at 52 ° but it is something I freeze when I'm down to 3.8 ghz.

What I wanted to know is:

If it boot but freeze it, the problem is a lack of volts? Inability of the processor to go higher?

What is bizzard is that both freeze 3.9 to 4.2 ghz when I start a decompression.

    I have an Asus P5P800, Zalman 7000 Copper, 3200 TwinMOS 2x512ddr I dropped to 266MHz while I find the maximum o / c, a power supply Forton 400WATT.

    Thank you for your help

To overclock, you need to gradually increase the fsb of the ram (5 in 5 for example).
When ca crash, you can need to either increase the voltage of the ram
either increase the processor or decrease in the coefficient processor,
either raise the case of ram (eg case 3 instead of case 2.5) and, but I'm not sure, lower the HTT if necessary.

After, you have to do some tests to test the stability of the gear:
    OCCT (torture test)
    memtest

and do not hesitate to watch the temperature via:
    Everest
    Speed Fan.

I am sure, its bec of vCore, as its has already been said, 50 ° for a P4 but it's nothing against, 1.65V is too ... if you continnue you will have a celeron.

For my part I keep a 630 equals a 4.2 but as it is stable on my machine, the vCore should not exceed 1.5V on a P4 series 6xx on the stroke.

I think the opposite is not your CPU to its limit but your motherboard, that I know well, has reached its limits

Think a block of the PCI bus frequency 33.33 MHz and a RAM allows the sync possible if you want to boost perfection.
