Increase processor frequency to play Sims 3

I have a laptop. I don't have problem yet. I normally use it for surfing Internet and Microsoft office usage.

However, I just thought that I could play Sims 3. The problem is that I just look at the system requirements, a 2.4 GHz processor, I have 1.6 GHz. I do not know if it is possible to increase the frequency?

The requirements for the game are:-
- 2.4 GHz P4 processor (or equivalent)
- 1.5 GB of RAM
- A graphics card 128 MB with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
- Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
- At least 6.1 GB of disk space and 1 GB of additional disk space for personalized content and saved games

My configuration
AMD Athlon MV-40 Neo
Processor frequency / bus frequency 1.6 GHz / NC
RAM 2 GB
Maximum RAM 4 GB
ATI Radeon X1250

I do not know if my graphics card is quite powerful.

Re: Increase processor frequency to play Sims 3

Ideally a Pentium 2 also is sufficient for surfing Internet and Microsoft office usage. However for playing Sims 3 normally you surely must have QX9770 and overclocked GT295 SLI.

But overclocking a laptop is not recommended, although cooling must be fair. It should be viewed by increasing or decreasing vCore.

Also for playing games on a laptop is rarely effective.

I agree with revolucioncg but he should know that to overclock a laptop, you must have a good laptop. One more thing that should be kept in mind before proceeding is that increasing the frequency of the processor is not for beginners, rather reserved for the experts. Don't mind because the heating of the processor increases with overclocking, and its lifetime decreases.

However if you still want to then I will advise you to increase the frequency of your processor.

Re: Increase processor frequency to play Sims 3

Do not even think to overclock your PC, because it's expected to be light, little heat, and having a good self-excluding. If you want better performance, for the same price, you better buy a bigger laptop which is much more suited to the game.

Sims 3 will not run properly, it seems, on your computer.
